For about seven years, from the mid-1950s to early-1960s, the Chris Barber Club published a semi-monthly booklet for fan club members. Most booklets featured a letter from Chris highlighting recent events (such as tours, personnel changes), a feature about (and sometimes by) one of the band members, photographs, and even original artwork (e.g., cartoons by Monty Sunshine).

This set of pages now includes scans of every issue. You can read them by clicking on the booklets marked as web links, below.

We hope that visitors to the Chris Barber website will find the fan club booklets interesting and entertaining, providing unique insights into the early days of what has now evolved into the Big Chris Barber Band.

Diana Gardner was the Chris Barber Band's secretary in the mid-1950s, and was therefore responsible for editing (actually, mostly writing) the booklets in the early years. Now, almost fifty years later, she shares her reminiscences of those days.
