The four tracks by Chris Barber’s Jazz Band on this venerable record, plus two by the Lonnie Donegan Skiffle Group, are among the most frequently reissued of all the early Barber recordings, perhaps so much so that many of us have either forgotten – or perhaps never even knew – about the LP on which they originally appeared. These recordings have been published numerous times, at first on the LP shown here as well as on EP records issued at more or less the same time, on various compilation LPs in several countries, and most recently on CD, the most notable of which is Lake Records’ The Complete Decca Sessions (LACD 141).
