Andy Kuc

Andy Kuc joined the Big Chris Barber Band at the end of July 2004, replacing Paul Sealey. Andy started playing piano at about the age of six, then went on to learn classical violin, playing in youth orchestras. He then also took up the trombone (he still has one). At fifteen he bought his first guitar. At that time he became interested in the blues, and a great influence was Eric Clapton.

Among his other influences were Sting, Branford Marsalis, Charlie Parker, and John Coltrane. Andy started gigging in 1995, playing big band music (Fletcher Henderson style), and early jazz, both on piano and guitar.

In 1998 he played for the first time with the Pasadena Roof Orchestra, and joined full-time in 2000. Andy left the Big Chris Barber Band in the summer of 2006.
