From July 13, 1954, this is Chris Barber's Jazz Band playing "Chimes Blues", in the format (78 rpm) in which the record was originally released. The gramophone is almost a hundred years old -- it was a wedding gift in 1911. I'm not sure if the record is worn out or I need a new needle -- sorry about the deterioration in sound towards the end: up till then the sound is pretty good! |
