Not all that takes place at a Chris Barber concert happens without a lot of hard work "behind the scenes." The two people who are most responsible for staging, sound and lighting, among many other tasks that make a performance go smoothly, are Gary Jones and Rebecca West.
Gary Jones
Gary has been taken from the darkside (rock music) and shown the light (jazz and blues) by Chris and is loving every minute of being a part of such a great band. Gary has worked in and around the music industry since he first shook a rattle in his pram and liked the noise it made. Since then he has worked with an eclectic mix of artists including Genesis, Status Quo, Chris De Burgh, Bryan Ferry, Jose Carraras, Kiri Te Kanawa, Shirley Bassey, Robbie Williams and The Darkness, to name a few.

He site managed the Hampton Court Music festival from its inception for fifteen years and was Production Manager for the Kenwood Summer concerts for three years, helping to turn it from a production nightmare into a smoothly run operation.

He now spends his days driving the highways of Europe and Scandinavia in the trusty, rusty green band van with 'Magic' Mike Henry as his co-pilot, and trying to turn four table lamps and a candle into a full concert lighting rig. If you come to a Chris Barber concert and spot a strange hairy thing at the back of the hall sat behind the flight deck of Concorde, come and say hello He doesn't bite and you may feed the animal; he also responds well to stroking and beer!
