Chris Barber Plays, Volume One
Ten-inch LPs seem to have been quite popular in the 1950s. Chris Barber made at least seven of these: Chris Barber Plays, Volume 1 was the first of the Nixa 10-inch LPs, and the first in a series of four under the general title Chris Barber Plays.

The personnel consisted of the original band, founded in May, 1954, with Chris Barber (trombone), Pat Halcox (trumpet), Monty Sunshine (clarinet), Lonnie Donegan (banjo), Jim Bray (bass), and Ron Bowden (drums). Recorded in March, 1955, Chris Barber Plays includes eight excellent tracks, among them two featuring vocals by Ottilie Patterson.
