Dick Smith, Eddie Smith & Graham Burbidge:
The "Lost" EPs

Most long-time Chris Barber fans will be aware of, and quite likely own, the set of five 45-rpm “feature EPs” – one each for Monty, Ottilie, Pat, Ian, and Chris – that were released on the Columbia Records label in the UK in the late 1950s and early 1960s. In fact, if you don’t have the original recordings, you can now get most of them on a recent CD reissue from Lake Records, In Barber’s Chair (LACD 185). Far more rare, and indeed almost impossible to find today, were three additional EPs in the series, this time featuring members of the outstanding rhythm section of the time: Dick Smith on bass, Eddie Smith on banjo and guitar, and Graham Burbidge on drums. These relatively less known recordings are an excellent addition to your Chris Barber collection, and are well worth the effort of a dedicated search.
